At Architectural Justice we are passionate about creating spaces that make a statement. One of our favorite ways to accomplish this is through custom furniture. By creating custom pieces, we have the ability to manipulate the size, shape and style of a piece to fit perfectly into your home. Not to mention, custom furniture allows our designers and artisans to use their creativity to craft something that will be completely unique to you.
By collaborating amongst artisans, we’re able to design and build beautiful combination pieces, like this custom Acacia coffee table made with custom metalwork. The Department of Transportation responsibly sourced the 75 year old Acacia wood from Thailand. Our Artisans joined two separate Acacia benches together with a metal inlay to create this functional piece of artwork.

Design Process
From start to finish, many artisans may have their hands in the production process. For this piece, the process began by joining the two benches. Then, artisans sanded and removed any loose wood fibers. Next, they sprayed the table with a post catalyzed varnish. This acts as a hardener and also enhances the color of the natural wood. After giving the varnish time to dry, they completed the process by fitting the table with a custom metal inlay in the seam of the two benches. Watch the video below to see this process!
